ENSURING THAT ATHLETES IN DEVELOPING NATIONS HAVE THE RIGHT KIT TO TRAIN OR COMPETE FOR THEIR COUNTRY

FALLING AT THE LAST HURDLE: From running in shoes 2 sizes too small, to taking part in a Paralympic Games with holes in your running spikes, from not having swimming goggles to having no kit to train in. We have sadly seen these and many, many other challenges over and over again. Athletes who have trained all their life and overcome countless obstacles are then held back by the most basic of kit needs.
FILLING THE NEED: We work closely with coaches, federations and governing bodies across the globe to not only highlight kit needs and ensure items get to the athletes as quickly as possible, but also to look at future kit needs to help the development of para sport in developing nations.

RIO 2016:
SUCCESS STORIES

During the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games we were not just present, we actually set up an office in the athletes village, enabling us to meet with athletes and teams, find out their kit requirements and as you might imagine the office quickly turned into a distribution hub! During 2 weeks we saw over 500 athletes and we gave out 1,000s of items of kit.

It ranged from powerlifting suits, to badminton kits and running spikes to swimming goggles. We had to source a lot of the kit in Rio that we gave out and in those two weeks, much to the joy of the security team, we made 60 trips in to the village to bring kit we had bought.

During our time in Rio we were also asked to support a UK embassy in project, that was helping young people from the favelas who had recently been seriously injured get back into sport as part of their rehabilitation. This involved a slightly surreal shopping trip to a sports store with the Deputy Ambassador!
